Neighborhood Security Patrol

Argonne Forest Association (AFA) members receive Neighborhood Security Patrol services from a select team of off-duty officers from the Atlanta Police Department. The Neighborhood Security Patrol works with 10 neighborhood associations in the Buckhead area. Our neighborhood is patrolled seven days a week by uniformed, armed, off-duty APD officers. Lt. Jeff Baxter, the head of the Neighborhood Security Patrol, keeps us informed about incidents of actual or attempted crimes and provides recommendations on how to avoid such situations.

HomeWatch Services

AFA membership also gives members access to what we call HomeWatch services. AFA members who plan to go out of town can have their mail, newspapers, and packages picked up by Neighborhood Security Patrol officers and placed in a designated location at their homes. This protects those items and removes a key signal that the homeowner is away. AFA has a dedicated voice mailbox for AFA members to notify the Neighborhood Security Patrol of travel plans and request HomeWatch Services.

Neighborhood and security email updates

AFA members receive prompt NeighborNet email alerts of actual or suspected crimes, suspicious persons, and other security-related incidents in our neighborhood and nearby neighborhoods, as well as other important news that pertains to the neighborhood.

Social events and parties

AFA hosts periodic social events and parties for members, such as our Spring Cocktail Party and our Summer Ice Cream Social!

Neighborhood Directory

AFA members receive access to a directory of contacts for all AFA members. This directory includes homeowners' names, emails, phone numbers, address, etc.
